Devil May Cry is an action and adventure video game developed by Capcom. The game primarily focuses on swordsmen, but players acquire new weapons as they conquer enemies. It centers on Dante as he avenges against the demons due to his mother’s death. The series has inspired several comic books, anime series, and action figures.
Main Characters
Dante
He is the son of Sparda (a demon) and Eva, a human mother. He operates as an investigator specializing on supernatural things. He hardly has any money since all he earns is squandered by a lady he owes a huge debt. His sword of choice is the Rebellion.
Trish
She is a demon resembling Dante’s mother and has powers such as quick healing, strength, and electricity. She partners with Dante despite of their ideological differences. She criticizes Dante’s lifestyle although she is a famous rumors freelance hunter.
Lady
She is human with demonic powers and is the Lady who pockets whatever Dante earns. She sources work for Dante, but ends up with all earnings. She is a skilled acrobat and a weapon’s expert.
Patty Lowell
She is young girl with a huge inheritance from her relatives. She spends most of her money with Dante. She is the source of Dante’s romance and she likes cute things. She later turns out to be a descendant of the magician who conquered the Abigail devil.

Plot Summary (Anime Series)
The series begins starts with the attack of Dante by Trish. She manages to keep her off and informs her that he hunts demons in an effort to revenge on the demons that killed his family. She informs him that her attack was the work of emperor Mundus. Trish Vanishes at once over a high wall.
Dante, the main character, explores the castle and gets to meet the demonic marionettes. He gets hold of a new sword (Alastor) and uses it to defeat a giant demon named as Phantom. The demon later resurrects, but Dante manages to escape. He then moves on where he battles another demon known as Nelo Angelo. Dante’s confidence impresses the demon, but Dante continues receiving several blows. The demon is about to kill him, but notices the half-amulet on Dante and it immediately disappears. The amulet has Dante’s mother picture.
Dante continues with his exploration and happens to meet Trish again. Trish reveals that she is still under the authority of Mundus, but Dante decides to save her when in danger. His only reason for saving her is due to her likeness to his mother. He encounters Mundus when he is about to kill Trish, but saves her once more. Dante is overpowered, but Trish comes to his aid. Dante unleashes his full power when he assumes the form of Sparda.
Dante eventually emerges as the victor and leaves the sword and amulet with Trish’s immobile body. Dante is left with his regular strength, but is cornered by Mundus as he flees the island. Trish gets back on her feet and gives Dante back his powers. Finally, Mundus is overpowered promises his return in a bid to rule the world. Before the island collapses, both Trish and Dante escape on a plane.
